nuthin much going on

nuthin much is going on around here. just working up my yarns and trying to get stuff done.

here is a blanket for my grandpa. jake doesn't like it.

here is jake in a new hat i made him. he looks like a little man that should be living at a lighthouse.

and here is a new shirt i bought, and the price tag it came with. i like to think of myself as a super bargain shopper. and for cute things. not just that random cheap shit at dd's discounts.

here is jake. he is reading the news. he is a bit concerned about how many americans live their lives without a bit of wahoo. it makes him sad. and then we watch little house, and all is well.

blog blog blog

i don't know what has gotten into me. i mean i joined another two "a-longs"!!! so now i am part of the year long gift a long, and the stash a long. both should be very encouraging. i feel like i have been acquiring too much yarn, and not doing too much with it, so these should help keep me in check! yeah!

i feel like that commercial that says "GO MEAT!" but instead i am going to say "GO ME!"

other than that, i have finished some stuff on the good ole uber, but i won't post until i do quite a few more things. i don't want to bore you all...

OH! and in big jake, big old jake news... my littlest big kiddo has two, count em, TWO teeth! good for him, not my boobs.

random

here are some random pics.

i made this scrubbie for my mom. we both get grossed out at the amount of bacteria that reside on a sponge.

and this is me taking a self photo modeling my new glasses.

when i had a look at it, i thought i looked like i was channeling christian from project runway.
what do you think?

either way... i feel FAB-U-LOUS!!!

the last of the wispies.

so, when i was down south, everyone was giving me hell for not having jake's hair cut. put that on top of people up here giving me hell for not cutting his hair, and well... you can guess... the night we got home, the scissors came out, and his hairs got cut.

i guess it was pretty long.

he looks like a boy now.

the last day...

the last day at home is always a bittersweet one. i look forward to being at home with my husband, and my bed, but i never want to leave my family. i mean... look at how awesome they are...

here is jessie. she and liz like to play.

here is my dad. he is cute.

and if you don't know, this is my brother, who is always good for a laugh...

and a good cry. this is my brother singing to jake. he is singing a 49er something like "ask your mama for 50 cents to see the fat man sing." he really has such a nice voice, and he is so gentle with jake. it still makes me tear up.

h&m

my mom bought me this awesome sweater from H&M.

and we had a good giggle at jakes expense.

Disneyland!

while we were down, we went to disneyland!!!
liz was stoked!

we are all so excited!

i love this picture!

small world is so pretty it makes me happy!

jake was inspired and wanted to be a pirate.

turns out, even minnie mouse knits.

i loved being at disneyland, but... i loved being with my family even more.

to the valley and family!

last week we went down to the valley to visit, and have some fun.
liz likes to read the plane safety brochure...

we love uncle joe, and aunt nani!!!

uberlist update

not that it is terribly important, but i have managed to finish two more things.

i finished #42. wash the throw rugs, and #59. find all the pieces to jakes jumper. they aren't too fab, but they are done. six down, one hundred and two to go!

here is my jakes.

fiber junk-o-matic

i have plenty of fiber news to tell everyone.

i finally got my drop spindle.

i also bought some really beautiful roving to spin.

first i have to learn on the plain that i have,

and the bits of peace fleece i bought at the bazaar.

i also wanted to say how excited i am! interweave knits has FINALLY put the babette blanket up for sale. that will be the next thing i do after all the wips i finish.

i also am glad to say that the stash bustin' blanket is almost done! i am about 1/4 of the way done with skein number four.

but not after i had to cut off a huge slub that was hiding in my skein.

it pissed me off, but jake loved it! and that made me happy!

and here is the kool yarn i dyed up! i think it looks yummy, like cotton candy! i call the colorway "black grape lemonade"

my old man.

pat turned 28!

we had chicken enchiladas, beans and rice.

and cake.

jake wasn't too sure as to what was going on.

pretty candles.

and huge slices.

even jake had a bit.

happy birthday pat!

making cakes

pat's birthday was on the 10th, and me and liz had a fun time making cake. it consisted of me making the cake, which was chocolate with peanut butter and chocolate frosting...

and eating a lot of blue frosting.

jake didn't get nothing!

to dye for

so, jake took a long nap, and i was able to try my hand at some kool aid dyeing.

i had already long skeined up some lion brand wool, and all i had to do was mix up the kool aid.

steam the wool to set the dye.

and presto! colorful wool!

now all i have to do is figure out how to wind a center pull cake using a nostepinne... but since i don't want to buy one, i am using a cardboard tube. i call it my nasty.
