It is Halloween and we can’t wait!
Liz is a kitty, and jake likes to pet her
jake is a chef, of the boy-r-dee type
the neighbors came over and we had a party in the garage.
liz and tyler went trick or treating.
and there was a sad broke down pumpkin
and there was much eating of candy.
there were so many trick or treaters we ran out of candy. It was a fun night and the kids had a great time.

Pumpkin carving.
Since it is getting really close to Halloween we decided it is time to carve pumpkins. Some of the neighbors down the stree carved theirs early, and they have already begun to rot, but I think the timing is right for us.
jake wants to help clean out the brains.
liz is super stoked to be cutting
she was so excited she flew away… almost.
daddy was happy to watch most of it from the bench.

Halloween Happening
There was a free Halloween party on base and it was a good way to get out of the house. The weather is really beginning to turn cold, so indoor things are a treat.
Jake got ready by pretending he was a banana, and had a sticker on his head.
liz and pat got to carve a pumpkin.
liz was describing how she wanted it to look, and the kid next to her couldn’t believe it!
jake was bored and wanted to eat candy.

Fall in New England
October 20
When they say there isn’t anything like fall in New England, they are right. The weather is crisp and bright, and the colors are like nothing I have ever seen.
it is still warm enough for the kids to play outside, and we let them as much as we can.
pat is too cool for school.
and jake has a new hat to match the season.

i know how this works...
if i say i am going to do something on this blog, it doesn't happen. sooooo...
tomorrow i am going to wake up nice and early and scrub all the floors in my house, while making a five course meal. then, i am going to take the quickest fastest shower i can, and instead of taking a nap i will rearrange all the closets and store the summer clothes. if all goes well, tomorrow should be a very productive, and tiring day...

i know, i know...
i promised more posts... but somehow, whenever i do that, my days are filled with things to do. and right now i am busy with laundry lunch, tendonitis, and wishing i was going to rhinebeck. oh well... it could be worse. it could be tomorrow, which is filled with sewing a white cat costume for liz.

The Groton Fall Festival
We went to the fall festival and got to see lots of city stuff up close. There was a helicopter from base.
there were diggers, ambulances and fire trucks…
and pumpkins.
it was a nice way to start the fall season. The weather was lovely, and we enjoyed ourselves for half a day. As much as everyone complains about Groton, I like the small town feel of it.

We are home
There was much putting away, and getting back to normal. Part of that included Liz picking her pinto beans
starting swim classes, which she is doing fantastic at,
and getting a haircut! I hadn’t cut her hair ever, but the crying was getting to be too much for the both of us. So it had to be done. You can hardly tell, but life is a bit easier for me so I am happy.
